Title: Natal day for Charlemagne Abercrombie Gillies
Potentates come and go, some linger on in various states. This one lived on at his family’s estate in the south of France. He was historically a “joiner” as was his father before him and wore various fraternal outfits whenever and wherever his mood dictated. His father had passed on ten years before and the supply of costumes he had left behind provided Charlemagne with several fraternal opportunities that didn’t require dues or requisite meetings. On this Natal day which marked his eighth seven year cycle he chose his own Masonic ensemble, his favorite, to wear for the celebration. The party photographer snapped him in the corner of his study enjoying his recollections and accomplishments and a glass of 1869 Chateau Lafite.
